Build in public, vol. 3

Happy first Wednesday of June everyone! In a strange turn of events, I actually think I am running out of things to yap about (recession indicator). Am I getting less interesting??? Haha, definitely not that. I think the increasing humidity is making me lose my personality. Anyway, here are the things you actually care to read about... hopefully.

What I'm working on

Orchid shoe charm

My birthday party came and went in a very chaotic but VERY fun fashion (as per usual). Now the question I know you're all on the edge of your seat with - "did you get the shoe charms done in time???". Well, sorta!

I got the prints done and assembled - this was also a very chaotic and last minute process which I'm starting to think might just be a me issue? ANYWAY they were all put together and beautiful but tragically the tolerances on the part of the charm that actually attaches to the shoe were too big and as soon as I took a step the flowers popped right off. So I did get them done and I did get some photos, but I wasn't able to wear them for the party. I think once I master the tolerances for the shoe clip I will be able to wear them outside, which is an exciting thought! I left them pure white for the party (because my dress was red and there was just a lot going on), but I've been playing around with the idea of painting part of the flower to look more realistic.

I attempted some very quick colouring with sharpies on a previously printed piece that had broken (classic). It doesn't look great but I also don't hate it entirely! If you are one of my more artistically inclined friends, be prepared to hear from me soon. So this is not the end of the road on this project but I'm hoping the final few updates/changes will be done soon :)

What I'm learning

Figuring out ways to structure pages on my website is something that feels very difficult to me so I've been straight up avoiding it. I have my pant waist adjusters that have been done for weeks now and I should really upload to a project page, but I can't visualize what I want to say or how I want the page to flow so I've decided to simply not do it! I think it's because I want it to be 'perfect' (literally whatever the hell that means) so I'm putting it off until absolutely necessary. If anyone wants to work (aka parallel play) at a coffee shop with me until I get that page done and uploaded please hit me up serious inquiries only!!!!!

Where I'm stuck

My 2017 macbook is hanging on for dear life and it's making it impossible to work on projects without fearing that it's going to burst into flames. I've been backing it up onto a hard drive but everyone PLEASE pray for her I can't emotionally handle losing my laptop rn.

Thanks for sticking with me to the end. I almost postponed this until next week but then I realized I was just giving myself more work to do next week which is rude! Hopefully you can't feel my exhaustion through the screen 😮‍💨
