It's actually finally starting to get cold (not like its almost November or anything...) and my light jacket collection is getting its chance to shine! They'll probably have to go back into storage in about a week when it becomes randomly freezing so if you see me doing multiple jacket changes in a day... mind your damn business.

What I'm working on

Believe it or not, I actually didn't do a single thing for MadiMakes this month! That was obviously very intentional though. If there's one thing I've learned the hard way over the past year-ish, it's that I absolutely can do everything but not all at once. This month I've really been investing in professional development by taking a project management course and studying for the NPPE exam that is required to become a professional engineer in Canada. So, while I had some lofty goals I wanted to hit (ahem start selling things), I decided it was for the best to let this take a back seat for the month, and mayyybeeee even next month too - but I won't mentally commit to that until I need to.

What I'm learning

Being seen is really scary! I was very lucky to be on the cover of my high school's ~inaugural~ magazine 💅 which I ended up sharing on a few social media platforms. First off, seeing yourself in professional photos is low key horrifying and I don't think I'd wish it on my worst enemy. Once I got over that (and genuinely started to like the pictures) I got another wave of nerves because I started getting a LOT of traffic to this site. I had the foresight to fix the product pages that I mentioned last month I somehow managed to break before I posted about it but I was still nervous other people would judge my very work-in-progress-side-project-for-fun-vibes website. I checked today and so far I've had 111 visitors this month 🥹 so I'm taking that as a sign that everything is working out!! If you missed the article you can read it here!

Where I'm stuck

I feel like I could be using AI much more to my advantage, especially for this passion project where I have limited time and resources to spend. I'm getting better at staying in the loop with new tools and products, but sometimes it gets overwhelming and confusing, especially when people love to use technical jargon that sounds like simlish to me personally (I had to google GPU 4 times before the meaning of it stuck). So if anyone has any AI faves please let me know! I'd love to be less of a boomer.

Ok off I go to prepare tomorrow's lunch as I did yesterday and the day before that and will continue to do probably for the rest of my life.

See you next time!
