Build in public, vol. 6

Many people think fall starts on the autumnal equinox on September 22. But they would be wrong. It's not fall until Starbucks says it is, and apparently it started yesterday. I'm not a big PSL fan but I love light jacket weather, which has also decided to start as of last week. Huge deal for the Gilmore Girls fans in your life.

What I'm working on

I finally published 2 product pages!!!!! Please roll out the red carpet. These have been in draft mode for a very long time now, even though the products were fully designed and ready to go. I finally added pictures and pressed publish and let a wave of relief wash over me because I've been avoiding doing this for soooo long (for reasons truly unbeknownst to me). They aren't lengthy descriptions on how I made them, more so just a little taste of what it does and why I was inspired to make it. You can find them on my product page here.

What I'm learning

Perfection is the enemy and I'm holding myself back by waiting for the ~right time~ (spoiler: that doesn't exist and I am just procrastinating because i am unfortunately very good at it 💅). I am also learning that sometimes what I envision in my head does not translate well to real world products or applications. I've had the idea for the makeup brush tree in my head for years now and I just finally started making it in CAD, only to realize a lot of the connection ideas I had are a lot more convoluted than I initially thought. I am still pushing forward and working on it though, which is more than I could say about this project previously so #winning.

Where I'm stuck

I have some reservations about sending products to print if I don't think they're 100% correct yet. I think it's more of a mental block than anything (take a shot every time you've heard me say that in life in general), but I feel weird/guilty/bad about using 3D printer filament if the design hasn't been frozen/vetted. Which is funny because the whole point of printing it multiple times is to make sure it works as intended lol. Chicken or egg?

Wow this is 2nd blog post in a row where we are heading into a long weekend. It's almost like..... they're monthly?
